Altair Advanced Industries, a member of the Alpha Group, which provides world-class powering solutions, seeks a Director of Quality Assurance for its manufacturing facility in Bellingham, WA.

Summary: Manage resources and processes to ensure product quality and quality system requirements are met including component selection, design verification, vendor qualification, supplier quality assurance, production testing and on-going product qualification testing. Will identify priorities for QA improvements, establishment of metrics, lead the development of required standards, and assist in determining best practices for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate quality system, manufacturing process, and design changes to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance to quality standards
• Manage elements of the quality system such as corrective action process and internal audits
• Work with engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to solve quality problems that affect delivery of products and services to customers
• Actively participate in the design process to optimize designs, test processes and manufacturing processes
• Provide technical assistance to purchasing to facilitate improved quality of purchased goods and evaluate potential suppliers
• Monitor domestic and international suppliers through close communication and interaction
• Manage resources and provide technical support within the quality department
• Supervise quality inspectors and engineers
• Manage ISO 9001 compliance

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent military training
• Experience: 6-8 years in Quality Assurance or Engineering
• Supervisory Experience: 2-4 years

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to speak Mandarin
• Certified quality engineer
• Certified reliability engineer
• SAP Experience
