ALPHA TECHNOLOGIES NAMES NEW PRESIDENT AND COO

Bellingham, Wash., October 30, 1998 - Leading cable television and telecommunication power supply manufacturer, Alpha Technologies, has announced the appointment of Warren J. Johnson as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Johnson comes to Alpha with a history spanning more than 20 years in the power conversion industry. A rich and diverse background in managing both domestic and international operations will allow Mr. Johnson to contribute to and accelerate the company’s growth in its respective markets.

As President and COO, Mr. Johnson is a key member of the company’s Executive Committee. Among the committee’s key objectives is the formulation and implementation of steps required to effectively serve the expanding worldwide demand for Cable Television and Telecommunication power solutions.
