ALPHA ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITIONS TO XM2 POWER SUPPLY

Bellingham, Wash., February 18, 2000 - Power supply manufacturer Alpha Technologies announces the industry’s first 60V, 22.5A power supply – the new XM Series 2 CableUPS®. Enhanced product design and operating improvements have made the new XM Series 2 the highest powered, most efficient and easy to operate UPS of its kind.

The new XM Series 2 is now available in a 22.5 Amp model, offering the highest output current available. This industry first allows for the simple upgrading of applications requiring additional power, as well as simplified system design. The new unit also features dual isolated outputs, providing improved protection and isolation as well as enhanced overall system reliability. New product design includes 100 percent front panel access to all connections and test points for easier and more efficient maintenance.

The XM Series 2 vertical-mount was developed specifically for the European market, providing a power supply for street-side cabinets with a minimum depth constraints. This unit is a 60V, 22.5 Amp power supply, completely front accessible, featuring up to five outputs.

The XM Series 2 design incorporates complete generator compatibility, flexible system control and advanced status monitoring options. These features support easy migration to centralized node powering, while reducing the overall enclosure size to power ratio. The XM Series 2 will also display suggested troubleshooting hints under alarm conditions in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
