ARGUS TECHNOLOGIES ADDS 10kW RECTIFIER TO PATHFINDER SERIES

Burnaby, B.C., May 10, 2000 - Argus Technologies now offers a 10kW communications grade rectifier to its Pathfinder series in an exceptionally small and power package. With the introduction of the 10kW rectifier, Argus Technologies' Pathfinder Series takes another big step forward in power density. The ultra-compact (5.25" rack space) 48 VDC unit is designed specifically to meet the needs of today's advanced digital communications systems.

With the introduction of this product, Argus Technologies—long known for innovative solutions in the midrange power system market—has extended its reach into the market for large power systems requiring 10,000 amps and beyond.

A primary advantage of the 10kW Pathfinder is providing maximum power in a minimum of rack space. Power systems using 10kW modules can be 30% to 40% smaller than comparable systems using traditional rectifiers.

The 10kW is also exceptionally easy to install and expand. Pathfinder units are hot swappable with front access design that facilitates AC input, alarms and control connections to the cabinet. DC connections are made via rear-mounted terminals for easy cable or buss work.

Remote communications can be achieved with the optional Argus SM series of supervisory panels. Rectifier setup, adjustment and control become a single-step process that occurs from one centralized, easy-to-use interface. The new 10kW unit joins an expanding lineup of Pathfinder Series modular switch mode rectifiers. All Pathfinder 48 VDC rectifiers feature ultra-compact design, a unique power limiting feature, and a wide range of three-phase AC input.
