Alpha Introduces Six Amp XM2 Cable Power Supply
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bellingham, Wash., May 26, 2006 - Power system provider Alpha Technologies, is pleased to introduce a 60/90V low watt addition to the XM2 family of standby power supply for the cable television industry. The XM2-906 is designed specifically to provide higher efficiency for low wattage applications.
The XM2-906 is available for both 60V and 90V networks and provides up to six amps of output for 90V systems and eight amps for 60V systems. By designing this power supply for these conditions, Alpha has achieved efficiencies comparable with higher output 15 or 20 amp models. The XM2-906 G6 is backwards compatible with all XM2 options.
“The XM2-906 continues to provide many of the key features associated with other higher output XM2 models” commented Paul Humphreys, VP Marketing & Product Management, adding, “These include our industry leading LCD Smart Display, dual isolated outputs, 100 percent front panel access to all connections and test points for easier and more efficient maintenance, and optional embedded transponder.
The XM2-906 also incorporates complete generator compatibility, flexible system control and advanced status monitoring options. These features support easy migration to centralized node powering, while reducing the overall enclosure size to power ratio.
