Bellingham, Wash., January 19, 2005 - Power system provider Alpha Technologies unveils its new Tetrex Series, a value-based AC UPS solution for the North American market. The Tetrex is a simulated sine wave, line interactive UPS and is available in four tower modes ranging in size from 500VA to 1500VA. It is ideal for personal computers, point of sales (POS) equipment, and entry-level servers.

“This new value-based UPS series rounds out our AC UPS product portfolio,” comments Frank Albano, Vice President, Industrial, Commercial and Government division, Alpha Technologies. He adds, “The Tetrex provides our customers with an affordable, high quality, entry level solution that protects their equipment from harmful spikes and surges and provides critical backup power.”

The Tetrex is a fully digitized microprocessor controlled UPS, which incorporates Auto Voltage Regulation (AVR) with buck and boost. “AVR supplies the UPS with a wider input voltage power rating range that results in fewer transfers and extends battery life,” comments Albano.

Additional features include short circuit and overload protection, smart battery management, automatic frequency selection, telephone and internet modem surge suppression, smart communication, power management software, and RS-232 communication ports. All Tetrex models include AlphaMon, a graphical interface, user-friendly, windows-based, monitoring software that provides customers with UPS status and safe unattended PC shutdown.
