Alpha Launches the Cordex 3.3kW System, a battery charger breakthrough

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bellingham, Wash., October 20, 2006 - Power solutions supplier Alpha Technologies recently announced the introduction of the new Cordex™ 3.3kW high voltage battery charger system.

Marketed by Alpha Industrial Power, a division of Alpha Technologies Inc., and manufactured by Argus Technologies, the Cordex 3.3kW is ideal for recharging all types of stationary batteries for large utilities, petrochemical and industrial uses.

"The Cordex 3.3kW system represents a significant shift from traditional ferro-resonant battery chargers," said Matt Donnelly, Vice President of Alpha Industrial Power. "The switch-mode Cordex product offers practical standard features like remote monitoring, a touch screen system controller, and Ethernet connectivity that are simply not available on comparable ferro-resonant systems."

The Cordex 125V 3.3kW is a compact 7RU integrated system with up to three modular rectifiers. Its new switch-mode technology has the ability to transform 208-240VAC into 90-160VDC with high efficiency and minimal stress. Whether rack or wall mounted, the Cordex 3.3kW system can be adjusted and controlled via the Cordex CXC touch screen system controller or through an Ethernet connection.

"Innovation, practicality and reliability are key characteristics of the Cordex 3.3kW," said Donnelly. "And to provide even more solutions in power applications, Alpha will be releasing the Cordex 4.4kW with up to 140A in system capacity in the next six months."
