Alpha Energy Increases Solar Footprint in Arizona
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phoenix, AZ - May 27, 2009 - A national leader in turnkey photovoltaic systems, and member of The Alpha Group, Alpha Energy has recently made a big impact on the Phoenix area solar footprint.

With highly attractive incentives including federal, state and local utility rebates, grants and MACRS (Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System) depreciation benefits, Alpha Energy has helped several Phoenix area organizations take advantage of solar energy to offset power expenses and reduce their carbon impact.

Some recent and upcoming projects include:
  • Arizona Game and Fish Headquarters – With construction scheduled to begin in summer 2009, details are being finalized on a 191kW grid-tied solar power system that will utilize 1,092 photovoltaic panels to generate more than 297,500 kilowatt hours per year.
  • Cox Communications Headquarters – Commissioned in February 2009, this 153 kilowatt grid-tied solar power system uses 900 photovoltaic panels to generate more than 240,000 kilowatt hours per year.
  • Johnson Controls Complex – Commissioned in fall 2008, this 12 kilowatt grid-tied solar power system includes 72 photovoltaic modules to generate more than 20,000 kilowatt hours per year.
  • Deer Valley Airport Hangar – Commissioned in winter 2008, this 56 kilowatt grid-tied solar power system includes 270 photovoltaic panels to generate more than 85,000 kilowatt hours per year.
  • Arizona Air National Guard – Commissioned in winter 2008, this 16.8 kilowatt grid-tied solar power system includes nearly one hundred photovoltaic modules and three solar inverters to generate more than 27,000 kilowatt hours per year.

“Our new Alpha Energy sales office in Phoenix has helped us gain exposure to a receptive audience,” said Drew Zogby, President and COO at Alpha Technologies. “Along with the current lower costs for PV panels and government incentives, Alpha Energy is focusing on working with Arizona organizations to provide turnkey solar power systems with complete engineering and implementation, including all construction, permitting and incentive applications.”
