Bellingham, Wash. May 31, 2007 - 2007 represents a landmark for The Alpha Group – thirty years serving the powering needs of a diverse and demanding global customer base.
The Alpha Group story begins in 1977, with the incorporation of Alpha Technologies Limited in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

“As with all successful ideas, there must be some kind of a problem requiring a solution,” said Fred Kaiser, Chairman of Alpha Technologies. “In Alpha’s case, the problem was the loss of TV service during the 1976 Canadian Grey Cup football championship due to a power failure. You can only imagine the frustration of the thousands of Canadian football fans who still had power in their homes but could not watch the game.”

In order to solve this problem by maintaining power to the cable system when the utitlity fails, Alpha introduced in 1977 its first back-up power system for the cable network—the AM 600 Series—into the North American market.
