Bellingham, Wash., March 31, 2003 - The Alpha Group, and its leading CATV/Broadband powering system provider Alpha Technologies, announces the purchase of Lectro®, a division of Raleigh, NC based Invensys Powerware.

Central to the purchase of the Lectro brand will be a commitment by Alpha Technologies to maintain availability of their CPR® and ZTT PlusTM series of standby powering systems, together with the line of non-standby ferroresonant products. In addition, Alpha will be honoring all outstanding warranties, providing service and offering installation support to existing and future Lectro brand customers.

Beyond Lectro’s current product line, Alpha is looking forward to announcing enhancements including the addition of a 36 volt version of the CPR standby powering system.

Mark Ascolese, President of Invensys Powerware (of which Lectro was a division) commented that “Invensys Powerware’s strategic focus is on our core area of expertise, and that is in our AC UPS and DC power systems business. Selling the Lectro group will make it possible to better utilize resources for product development in these areas.” He also commented “Alpha Technologies is a logical fit. They have the ability to build on Lectro’s existing success with future product improvement. Alpha will stand behind the Lectro name with an extensive service network for existing Lectro customers around the world.”
