Bellingham, Wash., June 2, 2003 - Leading power system manufacturer, Alpha Technologies, adds the AlphaMED® 3000 to its line of Medical UPS powering products. The AlphaMED® Series is available in 1000 VA, 2000 VA, and 3000 VA models, all specifically designed to provide safe, reliable power to critical medical equipment for the health care industry.

The AlphaMED® provides low current leakage and is ideal for medical facilities, especially patient vicinity locations. Each UPS in the series offers virtual noise-free operations, constant output voltage regulation and unequaled reliability – with efficiency ratings of more than 90%. The unique design provides maximum isolation from EMI and RFI interference and controls large power surges, eliminating the need for static bypass switches and increased step-load response protection devices.

In addition, the AlphaMED® provides extended backup time—up to eight hours—via simple plug-in external battery pack. This extended backup time allows the user to work through power outages and disturbances without interruption, rather than shutting down critical medical equipment.

Featuring an intelligent user interface, the AlphaMED® provides full information and power management capacity on stand-alone or network configuration. RS-232 port, SNMP compatibility and remote call-out paging adds to the UPS’s advanced communications functions. Each unit comes with an automatic self-test capability and can provide an orderly, unattended shutdown of medical systems in the event of an extended power outage.

The AlphaMED® Series meets UL 2601, and CSA 22.2 standards and comes with a full 24 month warranty and $25,000 power protection policy.
