Alpha Offers Fiber Enclosure Series

Bellingham, Wash., September 21, 2004 - Power system provider Alpha Technologies, extends its family of pole and ground mount enclosures with the introduction of the PMR and GMR. These new enclosures are designed specifically to support FTTx powering applications.

“We are excited to offer our customers reliable, cost-effect enclosures for the quickly evolving fiber market,” commented Scott Hopper, Alpha Technologies FTTx Product Manager.

The PMR-S2 enclosure is a pole mount enclosure with fourteen RU (rack units) in a 19-inch rack. The GMR-S2 is a ground mount enclosure system with thirteen RU in a 19-inch rack.

These enclosures are capable of housing rack mount Last-Mile core processors, Alpha’s FlexNet 300 Watt power supply and AlphaCell 85 GXL batteries, providing over ten hours of standby runtime.

Additional benefits include thermostatically controlled 48VDC or 120VDC fan and heater options, adjustable 19” EIA equipment racks and AC service entrance.

As with all Alpha outdoor enclosures, each PMR and GMR are made from durable aluminum. These enclosures have a powder coat finish providing protection from the elements and have been thermally engineered for optimal field performance. Each uses stainless steel hardware for optimum service life.
