Alpha Introduces New Network Power Sequencer
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bellingham, Wash., May 30, 2003 - Alpha Technologies, leading manufacturer of power management products, introduces it’s new network Sequencer™. Designed specifically for server applications, the Alpha Sequencer™ provides network administrators with powering controls to effectively manage their networks.
The Alpha Sequencer’s™ two isolated input sources routes power to the outlet strip to provide a truly redundant source of power protection. The standard start-up feature of the Sequencer™ allows each server to individually boot up in a specific sequence that can be pre-assigned by the network administrator. This start-up protects the facilities by eliminating the high inrush of current caused by booting multiple servers up at one time.
“Alpha Technologies is pleased to provide this cost-effective solution for powering problems faced by network administrators”, comments Frank Albano, Vice President Commercial Powering Systems of Alpha Technologies, Inc. He also comments “Alpha’s Sequencer™ now allows Network Administrators to customize the networks unattended powering sequence requirement, minimizing any power overloads”.
With its optional control center, the Sequencer™ has the capability to manage and monitor the input current of each individual server. Each outlet can be programmed and monitored through a web-based interface or a native SNMP management platform, providing administrators greater control over their network.
Another option available of the Sequencer™ is a programmable shutdown feature that allows for load shedding. The automatic shutdown device is activated when the input voltage falls outside of the sequencer’s range. In case of complete power failure, the Sequencer™ will automatically shut off non-critical servers to reduce the power of the connected load and extend the runtime UPS.
Various outlet configurations are available, from 24 to 39 outlets, making Alpha’s Sequencer™ one of the most flexible and configurable sequencers on the market. The Sequencer™ comes with a full 24-month warranty.
