Alpha Introduces Embedded Transponder with HMS Capability
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bellingham, Wash., May 15, 2003 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies, expands its status monitoring capabilities for its broadband power supplies by introducing a new internal or “embedded” XP-IAP-AMC transponder. This embedded transponder is compatible with AM Communications protocol and can be optionally configured to comply with the new SCTE-HMS protocol.
The XP-IAP-AMC mounts in the Communications slot of the XM2 and internally connects to Alpha’s Digital Status Monitoring (DSM) card to provide the full range of signals as defined by the SCTE-HMS specifications.
The XP-IAP-AMC allows those systems using an AM Communications status monitoring system, to easily upgrade to the enhanced data set of the SCTE-HMS protocol. Alpha also offers internally mounted transponders from other manufacturers that are compatible with Alpha power supplies.
