Bellingham, WA. – September 4, 2008 -- World leading power systems provider and a member of The Alpha Group, Alpha Technologies Inc. recently announced the introduction of a series of high performance CableUPS® power supplies, featuring increased energy efficiency and updated firmware for an improved interface: High Performance XM Series 2.

This new series of energy efficient power supplies cuts energy consumption by an average of 3 percent. This dramatically reduces annual operating costs, and when spread out over a large broadband network will make a significant difference in the environmental impact.”

With three different models in the High Performance XM series 2 (6 Amp, 15 Amp and 22 Amp), Multiple System Operators (MSO) are able to install the power supply that best matches their system requirements. Having the proper size power supply can lead to a significant decrease in energy consumption and reduce energy waste.

“This increased energy efficiency of the High Performance XM Series 2 is reason enough for a new product introduction,” said Hewitt. “But we have further improved the power supplies’ performance with a next generation microprocessor and firmware enhancements that makes it easier, more intuitive for field technicians and even more versatile for MSO’s deploying status monitoring.”

Alpha’s High Performance XM Series 2 firmware updates include a new Communications menu with DOCSIS parameters, an expanded operational menu and an enhanced Set-Up menu. All of this while still being completely backwards compatible.
