Bellingham, Wash., November 10, 2005 - Power system provider Alpha Technologies, 1600EP Series AC UPS has been selected as the Product of the Year from Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine.

The 1600EP Series AC UPS is the only single-phase double conversion online UPS in the market with input PF correction, output PF of .85, standard isolation transformer, hot-swap batteries and fans, and a three-year on site warranty.

The 1600EP is designed for headend, hub sites and OTN applications where a compact footprint and high power density is required. It protects sensitive loads from 3.6 to 18kVA and is available in tower configurations. Features include slide-out battery trays, external battery connector for extended runtimes and optional modular receptacle panel and Internal SNMP/web browser interface. Additional highlights consist of, wide input voltage and input frequency windows, electronic power factor correction, digital LCD display, and programmable front keypad.
