ALPHA INTRODUCES NEW MULTI-MOUNT POWER SUPPLY
Bellingham, Wash., July 13, 2001 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies has upgraded its Nexsys AWM 600 to the Nexsys 750 and 750i multi-mount uninterruptible power systems (UPS). The Nexsys 750 and 750i are the smallest 750VA power supplies in the industry and are designed to protect mission critical telephony equipment.
Alpha’s Nexsys 750 and 750i AWM UPS are more compact in size, have a higher power capacity than previous models and are designed to protect key systems. Improved efficiencies allow these two power supplies to offer more power per dollar than the AWM 600, providing an improved overall customer value. The Nexsys 750 and 750i are advanced power supplies designed to prevent power line noise, spikes, surges and blackouts from reaching mission critical equipment.
These new power supplies have several technological advantages over their predecessor. The Nexsys 750 and 750i provide 750 VA / 525 Watts output, hot-swappable batteries, easy access front battery compartment, free standing tower unit and inexpensive optional rack-mount bracket for installation flexibility. The free standing tower model can also be wall-mounted without extra hardware.

These power supplies incorporate a completely isolated battery compartment away from electronics for safer maintenance and battery replacement. Additional features include; true sinewave output, power boost, expandable runtime capabilities, smart charger, generator compatibility, overload and over voltage protection, and advanced communications RS-232 port with standard UPS alarm contacts.
The Nexsys 750i uses a galvanic isolation transformer, in which the output of the UPS is electronically isolated from the input by using electromagnetic induction. This is important for reducing high leakage currents feeding back to the mains through the UPS from non-linear loads. Galvanic isolation is also important for the attenuation of high frequency noise and the elimination of transients riding on the input line.
