ALPHA INTRODUCES NEW THREE-PHASE UPS POWER SYSTEMS

Bellingham, Wash., June 25, 2001 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies has added three new models to its headend power products, significantly broadening the company's three-phase UPS product portfolio. The AlphaSource 6000, AlphaSource Comet and AlphaSource Galaxy are designed to provide safe, clean reliable power to mission critical headend powering applications.

The AlphaSource 6000 Series raises the standard for critical power protection in high-powered environments. This three-phase power system provides between 225kVA to 750kVA. Features include true dual conversion online IGBT inverter with static bypass topology, single or shared parallel systems, small footprint with internal "Make Before Break" maintenance bypass switch, and high-energy efficiency. The AlphaSource 6000 is optimized to support 100% nonlinear loads. These rigid performance specifications guarantee computer grade power quality under the harshest conditions.

The AlphaSource Comet offers the advantages of a centralized power source with minimum space requirements and reduced maintenance compared to multiple small UPS modules. Features include: true on-line topology; input filter and input factor correction; power walk-in for generator compatibility; and optional matching power distribution cabinet for distributing power locally and /or to remote subpanels located throughout the building. The AlphaSource Comet provides 50kVA to 150kVA of power and comes complete with maintenance bypass and advanced battery management.

The AlphaSource Galaxy is designed specifically for mid-range enterprise level applications. This three-phase power system incorporates several innovative benefits. They include; true on-line technology, compact footprint, input power factor correction, user-friendly graphical interface, surge stabilization and generator friendly technology. The AlphaSource Galaxy is an all-in-one complete power solution providing 10kVA to 30kVA of power.

Alpha's ever present Triniti 4100 Series UPS is designed to provide total power conditioning for sensitive headend electronics. Its unique "active front end" design provides total power factor correction and utility cost savings. Additional features include internal batteries for reduce footprint and easy installation, complete system monitoring, load diagnostic capabilities, internal static bypass and offers 15kVA, 25kVA, 37.5kVA and 50kVA of power.
