Alpha Develops New Dual Utility Switch
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bellingham, Wash., March 4, 2002 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies is now offering a new Dual Utility Swtich for their Novus XT systems. The new DUS XT is designed to provide operators with the ability to switch between two Novus XT power systems providing an added level of wireless network redundancy and reliability.
Alpha engineers developed the Dual Utility Switch (DUS) product to allow operators the option of connecting two Novus XT power systems together at a single installation site. Operators can installl a DUS XT where two Novus XT systems are used to provide backup power for the main call processor and for multiple sector radios. In the unlikely event of a localized power outage occuring in conjunction with a Novus XT failure, the DUS XT will automatically switch to and draw critical power from the second Novus XT power system. This keeps the main call process functioning at all times and significantly increases overall network reliability.
