ALPHA OFFERS LOCAL POWERING SOLUTIONS IN EUROPE

Bellingham, Wash., September 25, 2001 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies recently worked together with customers in Europe to develop power solutions to some unique powering needs.

Cable operators needed an uninterruptible power supply to power in-home CATV amplifiers. The customer needed a power system that was wall-mountable, self-contained within its own enclosure, batteries included, easily installable and serviceable.

Alpha worked hand-in-hand with the operators designing a unique product to solve their powering needs. In a very short period of time Alpha engineers were able to develop the SG48 power system. The SG48 features include 48VDC output, 230VAC input, 1 Amp load, and provides two hours of backup runtime.

"Alpha has a long history of working with customers to provide effective solutions to individual power needs," commented officials at Alpha. "This was another opportunity to leverage Alpha's power experience to meet a customer need."

Working together Alpha and the operators were able to develop a product that not only incorporated their current powering systems, but also helped maximize their overall system performance and reliability.
