ALPHA EXPANDS PRESENCE IN ASIA-PACIFIC REGION

Bellingham, Wash., August 21, 2001 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies has taken further steps to strengthen its support of international markets. Most recent developments focus on providing additional sales and technical support to the strategically critical Asia-Pacific region.

"We continue to experience a high level of interest from current and potential customers throughout Asia and other international markets, and are taking steps to provide a stronger support network," commented Alpha President Warren Johnson.

Alpha recently appointed additional personnel to the region, in one of several steps aimed at providing additional region-specific support to its international markets.

Among these appointments are the addition of a locally based sales manager for China as well as another regional support engineer to provide assistance to Alpha customers in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Both of these individuals are based out of Alpha's Hong Kong office.

In addition, Alpha has added a field engineer based in Tokyo to serve customer needs in Japan. These newly appointed local personnel combined with Alpha's industry leading power technology will continue to support the growing need for power protection products in the region.
