ALPHA STRENGTHENS PRESENCE IN AUSTRALIAN POWER MARKET

Bellingham, Wash., July 30, 2001 - Power system manufacturer Alpha Technologies has hired new local personnel in the Australian region to further strengthen its customer support team.

Alpha has recently hired Bryan Ford and Alex Speilberg to provide technical assistance and sales support for local customers. Both gentlemen have extensive experience in the power technology field, which will prove to be an asset to Alpha and a benefit to customers.

Bryan Ford has been hired as a Regional Sales Manager for New South Wales, Queensland and the Northwest Territories. Bryan's responsibilities will include increasing Alpha's customer base, recommending appropriate AC and DC power solutions for unique customer applications, placing Alpha on customer tender lists, and increasing market awareness concerning Alpha.

Alex Spielberg is Alpha's new Technical Manager for DC systems for all of Australia. Alex's responsibilities include; electrical and mechanical design of DC systems, product management, formal tender responses, technical support of sales team, vendor management, customer support and project management.
