In February 2009, Alpha Industrial
Power was contacted by a utility
service provider in California.
As part of the design and
implementation of several
portable sub-stations to be
housed in small tractor trailers,
the service provider required a
compact and secure system to
manage their battery banks.
Launched in December 2008, the
AlphaRac industrial battery rack
system was the ideal solution.
These racks are polyethylene
powder-coated steel, providing
durability, strength, electrical
insulation and acid resistance.
When combined with optional
components, AlphaRac systems
can be upgraded to meet the
Uniform Building Code for
Seismic Zones 1-4. With a large
inventory of racks in stock, Alpha
Industrial Power was able to
recommend a solution that
could ship immediately.
Our Application Engineers were
able to develop the optimal and
economical solution for the utility
service, providing four AlphaRac
systems with three different
rack configurations. These
systems provided the necessary
battery storage space with a
small footprint and the safety
features they required, in the
necessary timeframe.
