Effective January 1, 2007, Alpha Technologies, Inc. in Bellingham, Wash. announced the promotion of Dr. René Spée to Executive Vice President. “René joined Alpha in 2001 and through his technical leadership has been a key contributor in maintaining Alpha’s position as the world’s leading power systems provider,” said Paul Barlock, President and Chief Operating Officer at Alpha Technologies. “His superior technical knowledge along with his leadership abilities will serve him well in this new role.”
Spée’s experience includes power technology development, strategic research and development planning, and engineering management. His background emphasis includes forwardlooking technology in power electronics, energy conversion and energy storage. In addition, he has authored more than 120 technical papers and is credited with two United States patents.
“I am very proud to be part of this corporation,” said René Spée. “By utilizing what I have gathered over the years in knowledge and experience, I will do my best to continue to lead Alpha toward success and the accomplishment of more goals.”
Spee received a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University and he has been a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
