Alpha Technologies introduces the AlphaGen portable generator trailer, a custom designed trailer to store, transport and deploy 28 AlphaGen DCX3000 generators and accessories bringing customers closer to VoIP readiness.
The trailer is 16 feet long, has a 10,000-pound capacity and is completely enclosed. Sitting on a 6 x 2 inch tubular steel frame, the trailer’s contents are protected with a patented corrosion protection system. The rugged, commercial duty running gear includes dual Torflex rubber torsion axles with 16-inch radial tires, electric brakes, LED stop/tail/turn/ marker lights and a 7-pin electrical connector. An adjustable height hitch includes DOT chains and choice of ball or pintle coupler.
Anticipating the trailer will be parked outside waiting for the next emergency, the exterior is sheathed in white aluminum to reflect maximum heat. The ceiling has seven inches of fiberglass insulation with a total of twelve air vents, which can be left open during transit. The interior of the trailer is similarly sheathed in white aluminum, with aluminum diamond plate flooring, providing maximum gasoline and oil resistance.
For nighttime emergencies, the trailer includes battery operated interior lighting. The battery is always fully charged by a maintenance free solar panel charger. The rear door folds down to provide a ramp to roll out the generators. The door can be unlocked and opened by one person, thanks to a torsion spring counterbalance. The ramp is finished with a non-slip coating and includes an extruded aluminum flip down ramp toe. For security, the rear door employs a unique cast aluminum anti-rack cam lock that spans the full width of the trailer door, making it easy to close and lock.
The AlphaGen trailer eliminates generator storage and transportation issues, while increasing emergency preparedness. With the 2005 hurricane season officially open, Alpha anticipates this innovative solution will be seeing much use in the coming months.
