SuperComm

SuperComm, the world’s premier annual exhibition and conference for communications service providers and private network managers, was held in Chicago on June 7– 9, 2005. Attendance at this year’s show grew measurably from 2004 — showing large increases in local and international attendance. Argus Technologies, one of 670 exhibitors, had a premium 20’ x 20’ location, showcasing products from all members of The Alpha Group. After 18 years, this is the fi nal year for SuperComm and Argus looks forward to participating in two new shows in 2006 organized by the same sponsors — GlobalComm, by TIA and TelecomNEXT by USTA.

ANGA
Alpha was the only power vendor at this year’s ANGA Cable 2005 show, held May 31 – June 2 in Cologne, Germany. There were over 7,900 attendees up from 6,000 in 2004, and 299 exhibitors from 31 countries. This show was very strong and energizing for the European sales team.

The main products that customers showed an interest in were the XM2, XM2V, batteries, monitoring cards and transponders. Attention was also given to AC UPS’s and AlphaGen generators. At the show there were an increased number of people stopping by the booth, with varying degrees of interest or curiosity in Alpha’s products.

Cable-Tec Expo

Alpha led the technology front at Cable- Tec Expo on June 15 –17, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. Alpha displayed a range of VoIP power solutions including a large Headend display inclusive of the 1600EP Single Phase UPS, Cordex DC Plants, controllers and batteries. There were 10,000 attendees, a 10% increase from the last time the show was held in San Antonio in 2002, and exhibitors were up 5% from 2004. There was high volume traffic throughout the show and an exceptional international turnout.

GOVSEC

In the four years since September 11, 2001, homeland security has become increasingly important to the American government. During that time, the only industry event to regularly handle these heightened security requirements has been GOVSEC, the Government Security Expo and Conference. Alpha Technologies was present at this show on May 25 – 26 displaying a wide range of powering solutions ready to take on critical security applications. An estimated 9,000 homeland security officials appeared in Washington D.C. over the two day conference. Many were interested in solar systems to power a variety of applications ranging from telecom to residential.
