Alpha wrapped up the 2006 trade show year with a very exciting and successful Fall season. Highlights included ASIS 2006, FTTH 2006, WiMAX 2006, Solar Power 2006 and Power-Gen 2006.
ASIS 2006
ASIS 2006, held in sunny San Diego, California, was a great show for the Commercial Power Systems (CPS) channel of Alpha’s business because it covered so many facets of the market. End users of security systems were looking for an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to support their existing or newly bought equipment; conveniently, Alpha was one of the few UPS vendors at the show. Distributors, value-added resellers (VARs) and Contractors for security equipment expressed very positive feedback regarding our products and saw the value of UPSs to increase their total project revenue. Manufacturers of security electronics realized they would greatly benefit from incorporating our products into a complete Original Equipment Manufacturer system for their customers. New for this year’s show, Alpha featured a solar power system display that showcased our innovation, in that we provide secure remote power as part of a complete package offering.
FTTH 2006
Las Vegas is always a great place to hold a trade show, and FTTH proved to be a fantastic event. Alpha had an attractive 20’x20’ island booth displaying their complete Fiber to the home product line. The stand was in a great location and had plenty of traffic, strangely even when the exhibition hall was closed. This show served as the launch of Alpha’s new FlexPoint 1230, garnering Alpha a lot of attention for providing a lowvoltage Fiber to the home solution. The Alpha sales team held several successful meetings with customers, as well as OEM suppliers interested in integrating our products with theirs as a total package. Go FTTH!
Solar Power 2006
After a year of rapid changes and heavy demand for silicon in the solar industry, Solar Power 2006 was not surprisingly a great success. Attendance at the show was more than 100% over the previous year. Held in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose, the show featured a wide range of new manufacturers and resources for solar modules. On the forefront of industry trends and demands, Alpha was proud to feature the pole mount SPS (solar power solution) for wireless and security applications. As we move forward in this quickly expanding market, this show is proving critical to keeping our competitive edge.
WiMAX 2006
Held in Boston, WiMAX 2006 event brought together an large number of attendees. The Alpha Group booth was officially manned by Argus Technologies’ Regional Sales Manager Duffy Heffernan, but the event proved too busy. Alpha Technologies’ Commercial Power Solutions Regional Sales Manager Ted Barney, who had not planned on working the show, pitched in and worked the booth all day. Particular products of interest included Alpha’s solar line, our Technology Developer partnership with Cisco and our diverse line of indoor and outdoor enclosures.
Power-Gen 2006
During Power-Gen 2006, Alpha Technologies had a diverse display of products from every facet of The Alpha Group’s catalog, including industrial power products, DC solutions, UPSs and Renewable Energy systems. Attendance at this show was diverse, including end users and engineering firms from all over North America. Many current OEM customers were also present, giving us the opportunity to promote future sales. With PowerGen described as an industrial show, it was surprising to find that our Solar Power products were among the most popular.
