Status Monitoring
AlphaNet™ IDH3
AlphaNet™ IDH3
Alpha XM2-HP and XM2 embedded status monitoring
Standard network interface including SNMP, Web access and ANSI/SCTE HMS MIBs
Monitors one or two 36V or 48V battery strings
Used with EDSM interface card
Optional VoIP testing features
Alpha’s XMS2 Digital Embedded DOCSIS® Transponder model IDH3 enables cable operators to manage their network powering through the existing cable modem infrastructure. Multiple power supplies, batteries and a generator can be monitored using a single transponder. Data is transmitted to a management system over the network’s DOCSIS cable modem channels through the existing CMTS. Bandwidth utilization is minimized by using standard SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) communications. Status monitoring information is compatible with ANSI/SCTE HMS standards.
The IDH3 can also be optionally enabled as an E-MTA to perform an advanced suite of IP and VoIP tests, thus turning it into a true cross-domain test point by combining measurements available from the HFC, DOCSIS, IP and VoIP domains.
The
SCTE-HMS Management Information Base (MIB)
can be monitored with a SNMP compatible Network Management System (NMS) or with a MIB browser. MIB files are required for the MIB browser to collect data from the transponder.
