The Generator Expansion Module (GEM) is an innovative way of extending runtime for new and existing PWE-3/6 enclosures. The GEM can be installed to the base of any PWE enclosure to house an AlphaGen portable generator. The generator connects to the power supply using a Line Transfer Switch (LTS) which automatically switches to generator power during outages.

Mounting Integration Kit
The mounting integration kit allows the GEM to be easily mounted to an existing enclosure without removing it from the pole. Once the kit is installed, there are no tools necessary to remove or reinstall the GEM, allowing for fast and easy response to a power outage.
Line Transfer Switch
Once power has been restored, the Line Transfer Switch (LTS) transfers the load from the generator to qualified utility power without interruption to the load. There is no need for field personnel to manually switch the power supply to utility power.
Portable AlphaGen
The Portable AlphaGen in a Alpha-supplied single cylinder, 4-stroke OHC, gasoline, portable generator
specially qualified for use in the GEM system. The AlphaGen portable generator can be easily and quickly
installed or removed from GEM enclosures, allowing for dynamic and fl exible responses to power outages.
