AlphaNet DSM and ESM
AlphaNet DSM and ESM
  • Network connectivity for the Alpha XM2, XM2VP and GMX Broadband UPS power supplies, no additional power supply interface cards required
  • Supports standard networking protocols including SNMPv1 and v2c
  • Embedded Web server for advanced diagnostics
  • Embedded DOCSIS or EuroDOCSIS cable modem or direct Ethernet interface
  • Monitors up to four strings of 36V or 48V batteries
  • Standard ANSI/SCTE power supply and generator MIBs
  • Local port provides on-site technician access

Alpha’s AlphaNet family of networking products, including the DOCSIS and Ethernet Status Monitor (DSM and ESM) broadband power communication cards enable Alpha’s XM2 and GMX UPS’s to connect directly to a network using the DOCSIS communication protocol. Advanced features and networking services enable quick reporting and access to critical powering information to keep your broadband network running.

The AlphaNet family of products supports all standard networking protocols and standards required for effective power network management. Through a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) interface, standard MIBs are used for quick, efficient network status and diagnostics. A Web interface enables any authorized personnel direct access to powerful, advanced diagnostics using a common web browser. A single DSM/ESM installed in an XM2 or GMX can support communications and system control for multiple power supplies and an AlphaGen™ backup generator system. When combined with an AlphaGuard™ battery balancing system, battery voltage measurements and battery charge management are accomplished through a single wire harness for simplified installations.
