Question
SM02 Alarm - LVD MANUAL IN ALARM ACTIVE
Answer
This alarm will occur when the LVD (Low Voltage Disconnect) switch is in the "IN" position. The LVD switch has two states. When the switch is in the "AUTO" position, the controller has the ability to release the contactor at a preset voltage. When the switch is in the "IN" position, the controller is INhibited from effecting the LVD no matter what the voltage level is at, and the contactor will remain engaged.
To clear this alarm the switch must be put back to the "AUTO" position. Before this is done however, we recommend that the the on-sight technician finds out what the reasons are for the switch being in the "IN" position. The LVD can cut power to the equipment so it is recommended that caution be taken when changing from the "IN" state to the "AUTO" state.
Without knowing the reasons for the switch to be in the "IN" position, it may be necessary to use bypass cables around the LVD before switching to the AUTO position. This will ensure that even if the LVD disengages, power will still be routed to the outputs.
