Bellingham, Wash. -- January 8, 2008 -- World leading power systems provider Alpha Technologies Inc. announces the release of the Spanish Language version of the Continuity Status Monitoring Software from Seldon Systems. The software is primarily used to monitor standby power supplies in outside plant cable networks.

“For almost four years, cable operators in North America have utilized this centralized web-enabled tool to reduce power outages and maintenance calls,” said Rob Anderson, Director of Emerging Markets for Alpha. “And now, the Spanish version of the software will make it possible for Latin American MSOs to more easily integrate status monitoring into their existing systems.”

Based on HMS and DOCSIS standards, Continuity is a flexible, affordable status monitoring solution that supports any standards-based transponder. It offers additional features when used with the Alpha DSM, a DOCSIS Status Module embedded in the XM2 standby power supply.

“Continuity software is very accessible and easy to use,” said Anderson. “It comes preloaded on a server. All you have to do is install it in your headend office and connect it to your network. While other monitoring systems require expert help and advice, Continuity can be used and installed by anyone who is familiar with a PC and basic status monitoring.”

Looking forward, Alpha and Seldon Systems will be releasing Continuity software in French mid-2008. Alpha's innovation in cable power systems will be on display at this year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Orlando FL, June 19-22 at the Orlando Orange County Convention Center.
